Joseph Cyril Bamford launched the construction and agricultural equipment manufacturing company that bears his initials in 1945. Since then, the company that began as a ‘one man band’ now employs over 8,000 people and produces over 300 products – with bases in the UK, the USA, India, Germany and South America and sells a full range of equipment in over 150 countries.
As well as the traditional JCB 'diggers' machine business, JCB has a number of other business units, including JCB Consumer Products who produce items for kids, home and trade by working with a number of licensing partners.
